MAJ Foster & SGM Wright welcome you to the 5BN website.

The 5BN covers the areas of Spartanburg, Union, & Gaffney.  We typically drill on the 3rd SAT of the month at the USC Upstate Readiness Center and will adjust the schedule accordingly to accomodate missions or training that we are involved with.

We are a "Force Multiplier" to local law enforcement, Emergency Preparedness Agencies, and the SCNG.  Training is conducted monthly with professional development classes throughout the year.   The 5BN is one of 5 Battalions in the 2Bde which covers the Upstate of SC and is a military uniformed organization.  Many members have prior military service but that is not a requirement to join. 

Requirements include a clean criminal background, minimum high school graduate or equivalent, and a willingness to serve.
